Established in 1957, Broad Meadows Middle School was one of Quincy's first middle schools. With a diverse population that draws from several parts of the city, Broad Meadows possesses a thriving multicultural atmosphere.
Known for its outstanding curriculum and dedicated staff, the school has been referred to as "a living, breathing, vital example of middle-level education at its best."
Our primary mission is to provide the finest education possible to each student by offering a challenging academic curriculum, a nurturing environment for the middle school child, and a positive school climate encouraging social growth.
Our school provides a variety of opportunities for students to celebrate their diversity, develop an appreciation for the arts, and encourages opportunities such as community service and global awareness to foster a sense of social responsibility.
Over the years, our commitment to excellence has been recognized by numerous prestigious awards and accolades: Broad Meadows has been honored as a National School Of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education's Secondary School Recognition Program; our dedication to both History and The Arts Education earned us the distinguished "Blue Ribbon Award;" and we were awarded the esteemed Reebok International Human Rights Award for our influential work on child labor issues. Broad Meadows was also the first-ever school to receive the U.S. Agency for International Development's "Domestic Partner Award."
For over fifty years Broad Meadows Middle School, "Home of the Breakers," has truly been a special place.

On behalf of the Broad Meadows Middle School staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our school. We look forward to developing a mutually beneficial educational partnership with you and your child. A very important goal for us at Broad Meadows is to provide a safe and risk-free environment—one in which children are encouraged to reach their potential and are inspired to achieve greatness.
Our mission at Broad Meadows Middle School is to develop students who persevere in their studies, take responsibility for their choices, and are honest in their character. Our staff strives to help equip every child with the necessary academic, emotional, and social skills to lead a productive and healthy life. Through a variety of professional development programs, the Broad Meadows Middle School staff keeps abreast of the latest developments in education. The curriculum is continuously updated and academic programs are aligned with all of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
Our belief is that our students will be ready to accept the challenges of tomorrow because of the learning experiences they receive today.
